Aetna Health Insurance

Getting The Best Aetna Insurance For You

Once upon a time, your job provided you with heath insurance. Today that's no longer possible for most workers, but this does give you some advantages. The biggest advantage is by providing your own health insurance policy, you can get a plan tailored to your needs rather than your employer's needs.

Aetna is just one of many companies that individuals and families are turning to for health insurance. You can get your health quotes online or you can speak to a real health insurance agent and have them help you select the best Aetna plan for you. Call Toll Free 877-991-4249.

Aetna - Different Plans For Different People

When you get your Aetna health insurance quote, you often get a selection of three or four plans in order to help you make the decision that's best for you. The cost for filling out the forms to get an Aetna health quote is $0. Aetna highly recommends that you check with the doctor and dentist you currently have to see if they already accept Aetna or plan to do so in the near future.

There are several Aetna PPO plans to choose from. The differences are in the deductible and co-payment amounts and whether you are applying just for yourself or for your family. An Aetna PPO plan may also include prescription coverage and hospitalization coverage. Many Aetna Policies offer up to five million dollars in coverage.

Aetna - The Individual Touches

Perhaps you travel to multiple states on business or perhaps you take name brand prescription drugs instead of generic. Then you may want to look into Aetna Managed Choice Open Access 5000, which includes coverage for both out of state travel and coverage of brand name drugs.

If you are female, then you have other reasons to check out Aetna insurance rates. All Aetna plans offer annual mammograms, coverage for gynecological visits and annual check-ups. Also many Aetna plans offer unlimited doctors visits for a co-pay of around $35 - $50 per visit. With Aetna PPO you never need to get referral to see a network doctor. You can even add dental coverage, which covers two cleanings a year, check-ups, fillings, and a good percentage of more complicated work like extractions, crowns, and root canals.

Aetna also offers several quality prescription drug plans. The Aetna Managed Open Choice Access 5000 offers you the option of $15 generic drugs or $40 name brand medications.

Aetna Health Insurance Plan Review

This is a review of the individual health insurance plan I have had for over a year. The insurance plan I have through Aetna, lets me choose whatever PPO doctor I want to visit, which was a big plus for me, it meant I could keep the primary care physician I've had for a number of years, and I didn't have to look around to find someone in an HMO network that would take me on as a new patient.

My Aetna PPO plan has been beneficial to me, as my old employer plan cost me like $400 a month, and now with Aetna individual I only contribute about $240.00 a month and that includes dental.

My plan is an individual, but there are options for people who have families, and need more than themselves covered. Some of the benefits of this Aetna PPO plan are an annual physical check-up with no out of pocket expenses, dental is also covered, along with hospital and emergency room visits. Co pays are low. It is 30 dollars per doctor's office visit, as well as just 15 dollars for each prescription.

Not only is the Aetna plan great for general 'stay healthy needs', like annual physicals and routine checkups, it helped out a great deal earlier this year. I had been having issues with blurred vision, and this plan allowed me to again, see the ophthalmologist I have been using for years, to address this issue. There were a number of tests they had to run, and with many insurance plans, much of the cost of these tests most likely would not have been covered. The entire exam would have been $395.00, if I was not insured. With the Aetna ppo plan, I walked away without any out of pocket expenses, except a specialist co-pay of $50.

This Aetna plan, has truly been a wonderful blessing, not only for the money it has saved me, but for the fact it is nice to know there is a safety net there for me. Should something happen, I know I have a great health care plan behind me.
But the benefits do not stop there. There is also a toll free 'nurse line' along with this plan, where you can call anytime, day or night, 24/7, and speak to a nurse about any situation you may have that concerns you about your health. Someone is always there to answer your questions. The website is also really nice as I can check procedure costs through the website.

All in all, in an ideal world my employer would offer good coverage and pay 100 percent of my medical insurance premium, but for the money I spend, it is money well spent for great coverage and peace of mind.
