Anthem Smartsense Ohio is the Best!

I used to live in Colorado and had SmartSense and then moved to Ohio and was able to stay with a SmartSense Plan. In Northern Ohio, the best health insurance to have is one of the insurance plans offered to those who are self employed. These plans offer superior coverage with low co-pays and low premiums. One example of this is when I had to take my toddler boy in for surgery.

Anthem SmartSense is one of the insurance plans offered to those who do not get insurance through their job. Eligible applicants can choose from single or family plans. Family plans cover the primary, his or her spouse and all children born to either adult, regardless of whether the children are birth children to the primary or spouse. For a family plan, the cost is just over $410 a month for my family of four.

The monthly premium may seem steep to some people, but with this coverage you have $30 physician visit co-pays and deep discounts on other services. This is a great discount because one office visit in the Cleveland, Ohio area can be in excess of $250. If a physician refers me for additional testing, such as blood testing or an x-ray or MRI, the cost is minimal as well. Blood tests only cost a few dollars, and these costs come from the lab directly. I recently had an MRI, which would have cost me almost $2,000 without insurance, and paid slightly more than $400 for the test.

An excellent example of how great this insurance is, is my toddler sonýs surgery. My son was riddled with fluid in his ears from the day he was born. This fluid caused him pain and a loss of hearing because it was like he was underwater all the time. Additionally, when he was just around three-years-old, he began to snore and then stop breathing while he was sleeping, a condition known as sleep apnea. I took him to the physician who referred me to a specialist. The next thing I knew, we were scheduled for surgery to take his tonsils and adenoids out, while putting tubes in his ears. I got a bill from the hospital for $17,000 and my insurance took care of all but our deductible. Anthem Blue Cross SmartSense is great insurance!
